Well, I’d side with Burke there. Jovo was still a #1 D man and that was a big gamble at the time when this team was “getting ready” for a Cup run.

LOL Bethany. XD I have a thing for defensive games.. honestly it makes me more excited, that’s why I don’t think the current Canucks are that boring.

Though what I hate is when the other team is playing a lame, not even trying to do anything in terms of offense game. Because then.. the Canucks defend against nothing XD and it takes them a while to uhh… XD start firing at all cylinders. So yah.

Otherwise if the other team is just really taking it to the Canucks and they’re just responding with a great defensive efford (led by Lui) then XD it’s just as exciting, I think. XD;;;;;

Mike: did you hear the story about Columbus offering up their #1 pick during Nash draft year to the Canucks in exchange for Jovo???

man, looking back at it… Trading for that pick and eventually getting Nash = so much awesome now.

Well, the BJ’s problem started long ago with poor drafting, thanks Doug!
Now, our problem is, we are in desperate need of a top line center. We have no legitimate centers, who can make plays, Manny can win the faceoffs but we need someone who can make the big play. Right now we have Tarnstrom as our puck moving d-man, which was another need, but he’s a UFA at the end of the season. So those are our needs…and we need a good Captain.
PS: Was that supposed to make me feel bad because it kind of made me sad.

You know, I was watching the Habs/LA game on Saturday with a big Kings fan and as I was trying to console her I said “You know, the Kings are so much like the Jackets. So many kids, years of picks suddenly coming into their own and yet they each have their own huge weakness.” For the Kings that’s in goal and Crawford…if they solve those two, they’ll be good (also Nagy has to go away). But honestly I am not sure the BJ’s problem…is it depth on offense or defense? Both? Now I’m curious!
