Bring your daughters to the slaughter

The NHL released their schedule today; run – DO NOT WALK – to get your tickets to the (*clown horn*) Canucks 2008-09 season (h/t Alanah). I like some of the numbers the organization released, including:

GAME DAYS
Monday – 6
Tuesday – 17
Wednesday – 6
Thursday – 15
Friday – 10
Saturday – 16
Sunday – 12

START TIMES (PT)
10:00 – 1
12:00 – 1
4:00 – 8
4:30 – 7
5:00 – 6
5:30 – 4
6:00 – 4
7:00 – 46
7:30 – 5

So another long season of one goal games ending at 1:45 AM for me. Awesome. At least we get to see the Canucks play everyone this year, including a swing through my area (finally!).

I know where I’ll be on November 19th.

    I’ll be cheering for nazzy and .. uhh the Canucks that day. hehe.

    Hmm definitely would be trying to get tickets to home/season opener, vs leafs (thank god it’s a weekend!)

    and whatever weekend game… and maybe the season closer.

    Doubtful for season opener tho… :\ it’s a thursday. bleh.

    I just realized I may be in California for Thanksgiving which puts November 19th dangerously close to not happening. That would be fitting; I want two seasons to see Luongo on ice and they swing through when I am on their coast. Bastards!

    That’s OK…I take in a few Rags game every year anyway. I’ll just pick and choose my moments this year to make sure its during games where they get destroyed.

    So I am left with October 13th when Van travels to DC. A bit of a stretch but I think it’s doable. Ovechkin and Luongo alone is enough. Oh that and I think they can actually win this one re: Theodore.

    With the Canucks still-doubtful-looking offense??? I mean, they did have a hard time beating Theo last season eh?

    Well those were the ill-fated Naslund and (maybe) Morrison days.

    You have to learn to embrace the inner Wellwood in us all; drink delightedly from the chalice of Bernier and sniff the aroma of Demitra. Suck on the essence of Johnson and invigorate yourselves with the sweet nectar of a blooming Hordichuk.

    Only then will you realize that we can beat Theodore.
