Darrrrrrryl

Mike Gillis has named Darryl Williams as an assistant coach, working alongside Vigneault, Bowness and Walter behind the bench. Williams represents another move – along with the rat killer, the Bure trade throw-in and the moneyballer – that helps put a different face at the management level.

Williams previously worked as an associate coach, video coordinator and strength & conditioning coach with the St. John’s Fog Devils of the QMJHL. Williams has also worked with the Kansas City Outlaws (UHL) and the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks (AHL). William’s hockey career featuring a liberal amount of bouncing between the IHL, OHL and AHL though he was called up to the LA Kings in 1992-93 for two games where he notched 10 PIM’s and 1 SOG.

Don’t bother going to the YouTube since there’s nothing there on him. However, looking up some Fog Devil action, here’s a fun clip from when he was behind the bench there. Enjoy!
