Actually, the song that Tom Cochrane did play (Big Leagues) could have been MUCH worse. He very tactfully removed the line in the song, “Hit a truck doing 70, in the wrong lane”

Jbomb – We exposed their defense last night, not sure we can plan on doing that again. Simply getting Regehr back and getting rid of Aucoin will do them well. Giordano I thought looked great for them too. But Keenan’s line juggling failed and way too many defensive lapses did them in. I certainly wouldn’t be opposed to that happening more often (and I REALLY wouldn’t mind seeing Ohlund play like he did last night another 81 times), but I suspect they’ll right some wrongs by tomorrow.

Rinslet – On the anthem thing, that kid can’t be trusted with a song of this magnitude. If he wins on the cute factor, Canada should hang its head in shame.

Bernier didn’t fight Phaneuf as much as he held on for dear life. Then again, that’s all you can ask for with such a mismatch. It’d be comical to unleash Rypien on Phaneuf…our guy would be destroyed but I feel like he’d resort to ankle biting at the end. Two points for effort!!

I’m voting for Canadian Gold, too. It has a more energetic built up to it.

Awesome game tonight. Goals were unexpected, but obviously a good thing, and the physicality was also fantastic. I hope it’s not just because we’re playing the FLames that’s why we’re that physical. I want to see it all the time!

Hehe Bernier fighting Phaneuf reminded me of when Ivanans laid out Henrik and Pyatt went after him. Oh Henrik…

Anyway, fun game.. SATURDAY WOULD BE SO AWESOME.

Plan the parade. If six wins in the preseason was not enough to get things started then six goals in the first game is. I have not seen an all around dominating explosion of awesomeness from a Canucks team that comes close to that in way too long. Although there were a lot of similarities to the preseason disemboweling of the Flames at GM Place a few weeks ago. Flames fans: be afraid. Your team got exposed tonight for the first and probably not the last time.

To see Hansen react like that without question was awesome. A subtle thing that may be missed but that was awesome for the team.
