Jenny/Jeremy - yeah that was rough on the eyes. Considering their spirited play in calgary I am left to blame the season's first bout of jet lag.or just 'one of those things' which hopefully won't happen again!

Stephen - burrows, rypien, the sedins, demitra, bernier and wellwood were largely invisible. Johnson, edler, salo, kesler and mitchell were the ones I noticed the most. Johnson especially, holy hell can that guy block shots.

The caps goals were legit. Semin's second and mike green's were beautiful. The most noticably thing I saw was that vancouver had no pressure on offense or in the neutral zone. They didn't even try trapping when the game was out of control; nothing in the middle was clogged and the caps are a quick team so that was a back breaker right there. vancouver simply couldn't contain them and there was nothing luongo could do. It definitely 'felt' like last year's team out there...though with a night to ponder it I'd rather they shit the bed against washington than against detroit.

I listened in on the radio and was hurt, hurt by this crappy play. Why wasn't I hearing the names Ohlund, Salo, Sedin (either one), Burrows, Hansen -- where was everyone?

Sounds like it was a return to last season's crappy games where the D hung Luongo out to dry and he took it on the chin. Just because he made Fla look good when they had no D doesn't mean we have to remind him how good he has it most of the time by making him relive the nightmare from time to time.

But, really, were the goals good goals, or was Bobbie-Lu hurting?

Oh man, that just sounds so very awful. Sorry it couldn't be a barnburner for your in-person, in-pressbox experience. I'm reminded of a rare game I saw at GM Place in the Messier era (Brashear also on the ice, I believe) against the Islanders -- just a wretched game from both teams...no effort, no spark, almost no excitement in the entire exercise. I think the Canucks even won, but it seriously soured me on spending hard-earned money on live hockey.

Well, if you enjoy hockey as a sport and can enjoy the crowd, then no. But when you realize who the other team is, then it's hardcore pain. Maybe I shouldn't go to games anymore!
