Sarah – I agree with you completely. I hated seeing him go but he seems fine and we seem a hell of a lot better with Luongo as the face of the team. It was just icing on the cake to paste them in their own arena. And I was caught between very sad season ticket holders. Snicker.

Rod – Those first goals were killer, took everyone in MSG out of it. And though I thought Salo’s shot crossed the line, I did enjoy the cross bar “ping” of Demitra’s ensuing goal.

But it was time for Markus to go. He needed a change of scenery as much as the Canucks needed a new captain. Hopefully it works out better for all involved.

I’m sat here waiting to watch the start of the game, because I can’t stay up and watch the lot – booooo – as I have a big meeting at work early tomorrow morning. Will have to catch the last 2 periods at least on tape.

My take on Markus is much the same as most – liked the guy a lot – was sad to see him go – but am glad he seems happier now, and I think we are stronger without him.

And there he is putting on his skates, gulp, this is bittersweet.
