"It’s fitting that both the Rangers and Canucks are still in this race because if anyone knows what it’s liked getting burned by an aging bald center with an ego complex, well, it’s them."

haha that made me laugh out loud - so true !!!!

Yup. I'm with you. I hope he goes and sinks the Rangers. I like this team a whole bunch. Every single one of them seems to absolutely love playing in Vancouver. I don't think Sundin will feel the same and I don't think he is the one to put them over the top.

A dose of reality to bring me back from my Sundin-induced hallucinatory trip.

I still want him though. He doesn't have to play with the Sedins. All he has to do is take the pressure off by swallowing up the minutes of opposing teams checking lines. Yes, he is 38, but he won't start playing until the new year, and will only have 40-ish games under his belt when the playoffs roll around.

Any Maybe Sundin will convince Linden to come out of retirement :-)

Good points. I didn't mean to suggest he would destroy the chemistry we have, I more meant that our team seems to do just fine with the chemistry it has. I'm sure he's a team player and a hard worker, but his age coupled with how long this has taken sits foul with me. I'd prefer to lose with a team that actually wants to be here you know? Sundin hasn't shown for one second he has wanted to belong to that city or that team; with that attitude he may as well pick the Rangers.

I look forward greatly to the end of this.

HA haha...zing!

I think some fans have stayed hopeful about Sundin because he still would add value to the team (ignoring the cost for now). If there was anything more interesting out there to choose from, Canucks fans would be even more hopeful about those better options, but as far as we know, there aren't any. And we've wanted another legitimate forward for at least three seasons now.

I wouldn't worry about him destroying the chemistry -- he's always appeared to be a team player, hard worker, and put up consistent points, even with mediocre linemates. It doesn't look he's coming here, but I think it could be a fine storyline in the surprising story the Canucks are writing for themselves this year.
